Electric Car Charge Port Flap Kit
Most electric vehicles can be charged with a tailored cover fitted allowing extra security and full protection from the weather whilst the car is charged at home or at work. We have now developed a very reasonable kit that adapts a car cover into an EV version by installing a charge port flap. This enables you to locate the charge port, mark the cover with a template provided in the kit, and install the flap that is supplied with a self adhesive backing and Velcro tabs. The kit includes everything that is required to install and reinforce the charge flap and includes step by step instructions.
For peace of mind you should check with your car dealer to ensure that the use of a cover does not impede airflow to cooling fans during the charging operation, but most mainstream models can be covered and charged at the same time.
