Jetex Exhausts
20th March 2019 | By Patrick CrowJetex exhausts have been made in Sweden since 1986. They are one of the oldest and most trusted manufacturers in the aftermarket, and at Carnoisseur we have been dealing with them since day one - if you don’t believe us just check out this page from our 1986 catalogue!
Jetex performance exhausts are designed to release the hidden potential of your car. Original equipment exhausts are intentionally designed by the car manufacturers to be a little bit “middle-of-the-road”. They are not optimised for performance and they often have an exhaust note that lacks depth and character.
A Jetex exhaust system is the perfect solution for the more discerning driver. Someone who wants to get the most out of their engine, and also have a sportier sounding exhaust. Jetex exhausts strike the perfect balance between achieving a deeper, sportier exhaust note when accelerating, but also maintaining a similar noise level to the original equipment exhaust when cruising. If you at all concerned about having a sports exhaust that is too loud, then a Jetex exhaust is for you - it is not going to wake up the neighbours!
A Jetex exhaust will help squeeze the maximum amount of performance from your car’s engine. They are designed especially to reduce back pressure in order to improve the performance, torque and efficiency. For instance, most original equipment exhausts use baffles to reduce sound, but this can increase back pressure. A Jetex sports exhaust uses a centre perforated tube instead; this creates less gas flow restriction and consequently back pressure is reduced.
Jetex also ensure that their exhaust systems are mandrel bent wherever possible, rather than cut and welded. Again, this is because they want the gas flow from the engine to be unrestricted and flow smoothly along the full length of their exhaust systems. You can typically expect performance gains of around 2% and 6% when fitting a Jetex exhaust. If combined with other upgrades, especially a remap, these gains can be significantly more.
Every possible step is taken to help make a Jetex exhaust the best choice for your car. Not only are they built to perform, they are also built to last. Jetex use high quality materials to help counteract corrosion. They are designed to be durable under normal and high stress driving conditions. They are available in a choice of mild or stainless steel. To check which material a particular exhaust is made from, please simply click on the notes tab on our Jetex product pages. The mild steel systems are a slightly cheaper option - these come with a 12 month warranty. The stainless steel systems are a little bit more expensive - these stainless steel exhaust systems come with a lifetime warranty.
All Jetex tailpipes are manufactured from stainless steel. Most are inward rolled for a smooth, clean look. They have been designed to compliment the styling of the vehicle, and they are meant to be seen. While stainless steel is essentially a material that will not rust, we would recommend that tailpipes are kept clean at all times; avoid alkaline based cleaners such as wheel cleaner, and regular polish with metal polish.
Every Jetex exhaust is supplied with a fitting kit and full fitting instructions. Most kits simply include clamps, others include stepped adaptors for the original equipment pipework, rubber mountings and extra hangers. Jetex performance exhausts are tailor made for your vehicle, and every effort is taken to make fitting as easy as possible, however we would always recommend having your exhaust fitted by a trained technician. You can contact your nearest Carnoisseur Outlet for a fitting quote.
