Boot edge bumper protection from RGM

It’s usually only when it’s too late that you realise there is a need for a boot edge paint protector. Seems like a simple thing or unnecessary expense, but if you’ve ever scratched the paintwork on your brand new car, you’ll know the feeling of despair and recognise the value. Modern bumpers and boot edges are usually colour coded and repairing or respraying a scratch or gouge is really expensive and inconvenient. Ugly scratches can also devalue your car when you come to sell it, so protecting your paintwork (or covering old scratches) is a great and cost effective solution.

RGM Rearguards and made from durable and weatherproof A.B.S. plastic and formed to perfectly fit the contours of the specific make and model of car, SUV or van that they’re intended for. We offer the entire range online, please make sure you select the correct year and model of your vehicle when ordering.

Here are a few examples of people who may benefit from an RGM bumper protector:

  • Young families who often need to load and unload prams
  • Dog owners who love to take their best friend out in their estate car or SUV
  • Golfers lugging bulky bags and trolleys in and out of the boot
  • People leasing a car or buying on PCP finance that will be charged extra for significant paintwork scratches at the end of the contract
  • DIY or gardening enthusiasts who enjoy a Sunday drive to the local recycling tip
  • Workman or self-employed van driver who takes pride in their van or vehicle
  • Sales person who loads samples in the boot
  • Car enthusiast looking to improve the style of the rear bumper with a Black, Silver, Brush Alloy look or Carbon Fibre Look bodystyling accessory
  • Owner of a car that already has scratches on the boot lip and wants a cheaper alternative to a respray

Reasons to buy a RGM Rearguard

Range of looks available

There is a choice of finishes across the RGM Rearguard range. Think about what other trim is on the car as some vehicles may have black plastic over the wheel arch (like the VW Tiguan), inserts in the lower bumper or have silver trim around the boot lid or rear window (like the BMW Mini Mk3). This can then inform the choice of bumper protector you choose. The boot edge protectors are available in matt black, matt silver, brushed alloy look or carbon fibre effect and can blend seamlessly into the look of the car – it will look like it was fitted in the factory and always meant to be there!

Simple to fit

It genuinely only takes a few minutes and needs no other tools or expertise to fit an RGM bumper protector. Give the area a good clean with standard soapy water and a clean cloth, dry it and then in the box you will find a cleaning wipe to remove any grease or residue. This will ensure that the Rearguard bumper protector adheres perfectly. Make sure you try the bumper protector against the car for size and fit first, mistakes are very rare but can happen. Find the centre point and make sure the Rear Guard is bang in the middle and then peel away the secure 3M sticky tape film and press down firmly. Hey presto, a beautiful upgrade and piece of mind, as easy as that. The boot lid will close perfectly and the rear-guard blends into the bumper like it’s always been there. An excellent step-by-step installation guide is included, obviously.
